Get to Know Grey: Local Food, Local Pride

Grey County’s agricultural heritage runs deep. With nearly 450,000 acres of farmland, our communities are shaped by generations of farmers, producers, and chefs who are passionate about growing and sharing local food.

From long-standing family farms to emerging small-scale producers, 428 farms across the region sell directly to consumers - through farm stores, U-pick, home delivery, CSA programs, and local markets. This diversity strengthens our local food network and keeps us connected to the land.

During Local Food Week (June 2–8), explore any one of the 6 markets across Grey County, meet the people behind the produce, and enjoy seasonal menus crafted by chefs who proudly feature Grey-grown ingredients.
Whether you're shopping, dining, or discovering, it's the perfect time to Gather in Grey and savour the taste of home.
